Hello, my name is Allison Graves, and I am the owner and director of New York Dance Academy, or NYDA. My whole entire life I have been dancing, and it is something that I always felt so connected to.

Growing up I had a dream of opening my own dance studio, but I never thought it was a realistic goal. As I got to be a little older, I realized that starting a business would be difficult, but it was a plausible goal.

I grew up here in upstate NY, and after high school I moved to northern New Jersey for 2 years to study nursing. I quickly realized that nursing was not for me, and then I bounced career options. Going back and forth between medicine, law and many more, I soon understood that nothing would make me as happy as having my own studio.

I moved back to upstate and got a job working at the studio I grew up dancing with. I also continued my education at MVCC studying accounting so I could learn the business side of a dance studio.

After a lot of planning and hard work, I was able to open New York Dance Academy LLC on October 23rd, 2023, and I couldn't be happier.

I am beyond excited to start this new journey, and I hope you will join me in doing so!
